Greece is a country that still maintains its culture values in this rapidly changing world. Didimoticho is a small town located in the eastern part of the Prefecture of Evros River
which is right on the border between Greece and Turkey. The reason I have been led to photograph in the town of Didimoticho is a complex stratification: the remains of its history and traditions are fading through the years while the stigma of a new unbalanced society is emerging. In a small land different cultural pockets are socially and professionally isolated, having their own characteristics. Special groups of people are living in the Prefecture such as Muslim and immigrants of Greek origin coming from former Soviet Republics.
For the most of these people living is a daily struggle and permanent housing is not a fact for all. Since in the year of 2007 there are family?s that are living under the ruins (specifically caves ?Kale?) of the Byzantine castle that circuit the town.
